Can digital calipers be used for both internal and external measurements?

05 Jul Industry News
Digital calipers can be used for both internal and external measurements. They are versatile measuring tools that provide accurate readings for a wide range of applications.
For external measurements, digital calipers have two jaws—one fixed and one movable. The movable jaw is used to measure the outer dimensions of an object by placing it against the object's surface and closing the jaws until they firmly grip the object. The digital display on the caliper provides the precise measurement.
For internal measurements, digital calipers have additional features such as depth probes or extension rods. These components allow the user to measure the inside dimensions of objects such as holes or cylinders. By inserting the depth probe or extension rod into the opening and expanding it to make contact with the walls, the user can obtain accurate measurements.
Digital calipers also often include a step measurement feature. This feature enables the user to measure the depth of a step or groove by using the depth probe and the main jaws simultaneously.
